Our Weekender Duffel was inspired by the travel hold alls of the 1940s. It is perfectly sized—small enough to fit in the smaller overhead stowage of a regional jet or even under the seat in a larger jumbo jet. But it is still large enough to hold a weekend worth of clothes and essentials.

Really what makes our Weekender the perfect bag for air travel is its side access computer sleeve which allows you to quickly access a notebook computer or tablet without opening and disturbing all your packed items—a feature you will truly appreciate at the TSA security checkpoint. By packing a few layers of clothes beneath and above the computer sleeve, your computer is protected without losing any carrying capacity to padding. If you are not carrying a computer, the sleeve can be used as a separate compartment for shoes, dirty clothes or just flattened out of the way to the bottom of the bag.

There are two extra accessory rings on each side for attaching a water bottle holder or luggage tag. Includes an adjustable-length removable shoulder strap and pad.

Thick full grain vegetable-tanned leather that will patina with use for a beautiful and truly authentic vintage look.

Lined with durable cotton canvas.

Condition leather regularly with a natural oil-and-wax-based conditioner throughout its life as needed.

Corrosion proof, solid cast brass hardware with a matte nickel finish.

Stitched with marine-grade polyester thread.

Brass rivets placed at stress points for extra strength.

I saw a post on Facebook about this bag and immediately thought it looked amazing. I have been looking for a nice leather travel bag like this for a long time, so I took a chance and ordered one in whiskey. I got it last Friday and took it on it’s first trip that same day. THIS BAG IS BEAUTIFUL. It was fun going through TSA and watching everyone stare at it. I’m so glad I went with a veg tan bag. The leather is incredible. Well worth the price. Smells amazing too. I probably should have conditioned the leather before I took it on my trip, but I couldn’t wait to use it. I’m going to condition it this week. I’m guessing it’s going to look even better once I do.

I took the weekender bag to NYC for a girls’ trip and got compliments every day. My favorite thing about it (besides how beautiful it is!) is how light weight it is. I usually can’t do over-the-shoulder bags because I have back problems, but I wore this all through the airport and barely noticed it. We may have to get two…I can see my husband and I fighting over who gets to use it!

I’ve been using my SaltCo Weekender in Whiskey for about 2 months this summer. Taken 4 trips so far, on the road and in the air.
-It holds A LOT. It is one of the largest Weekender bags and the really wide base makes a huge difference in how much you can pack.
-The laptop compartment is a winner at the airport. Ridiculously convenient.
-This weekender smells like Christmas in Leather Heaven.
-Fits right into the overhead bin on a Southwest Airlines jet.
-I do NOT baby my bags, and this bag still looks great.
-The handles and the strap make a great combination when you have packed it to the gills, and you need to give either your hands and/or shoulders a break. The strap definitely works better when you go cross-body if you’ve packed a heavy load.

Final Word: I almost couldn’t use this bag because I didn’t want to mess it up. I had other, lesser bags that I COULD use when traveling, that don’t look as great, but still do the job. I could borrow my wife’s rolling nylon carryon and sell this bag for as much or more than I paid for it. But it has just been so darn functional and fashionable at the same time, that I don’t see myself ever passing it on.
